an amateur and occasional woodwind ensemble, loosely affiliated to the Dunbartonshire Concert Band, whose name is as exotic and mysterious as some of the sounds they produce

We are amateurs (very!), and just do this for fun. But occasionally we go public for charity events and other informal occasions.

About the name…

Our founder member, Jacqui (herself a rare and exotic species), once saw a black vanilla orchid (Nigritella nigra) in an alpine meadow - and ever since has wanted to play in a band of this name.
